About Me
My name is Brittany and I am so happy you’re here! I wanted to write a few things about myself so you can get to know me better. I’d love to meet you in a writing circle so I can get to know more about you, too!
I’m a lifelong wanderer who grew up in the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio. I spent most of my childhood moving from place to place, and eventually I became an adult doing the same thing. Traveling isn’t something I do for fun; it’s a way of life. After a period of living a fully nomadic lifestyle, I decided to put down roots in Denver, Colorado. I’m happily exploring my new home and still get away whenever I can.
If being a traveler is half of my identity, being a writer is the other half. I’m OBSESSED. I started writing at a very young age. I’d carry a journal with me wherever I went. In college, I graduated with an English major and a Spanish minor. Being in workshops, reading literature, and discussing themes centered around humanity fed my soul. After college, I eventually found my way back to different writing communities. For years I have attended different courses, workshops, and writing retreats. I have performed spoken word in a handful of countries. I’ve had my work published in numerous anthologies, blogs, and magazines. I have met writing friends from so many different places. The creative community nourishes me.
When I am not writing or traveling, I’m spending time in nature (you should see how many plants I keep in my room!). I also enjoy reading, hanging out with loved ones, healing my relationship with spirituality, collecting stones and art, oh… and working. I DO have a fancy day job. If by fancy you mean, “it pays the bills”.
I believe that writing is an act of healing. I believe creativity brings you closer to knowing yourself and is fundamentally one of the coolest ways to connect with the universe. I believe that making time to connect to your creative self is an act of ceremony. Let’s join in that act together!
Please feel free to message me and say hi. It will make my day. Being in and building community for creatives is what I was meant to do.
